Ben Weinbeck, MA

Psychotherapist

I utilize a variety of modalities including Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Behavioral approaches, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I believe each client is different, and the approach utilized is based off of each individual. Clinical expertise in treating teens, and adults with issues related to the following: anxiety, depression, trauma, blended families, relational conflict, boundaries, self-esteem, and different phases of life.

My Story

I discovered my passion for psychology in middle school when a close friend was struggling with depression. Since then, I have been committed to becoming a therapist, and this passion has only grown. I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of St. Thomas. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, swing dancing, and playing board games.

Professional Experience

In therapy sessions, I employ a collaborative approach, working with clients to develop individualized strategies that best meet their needs. My focus is on equipping clients with information and tools they feel comfortable using both inside and outside of therapy, helping them build confidence and empowerment to manage their symptoms independently. I consider it a privilege to contribute to someone else’s personal growth and self-discovery nothing brings me greater happiness.

Why Private Pay is Beneficial for Some Clients?
  • Insurance does not cover relational difficulties such as couples and family therapy, they require a DSM-V diagnosis for one of the members. As a fee-for-service provider, I do not have to give you a mental health diagnosis.
  • Mental health diagnoses can follow you and be documented on health records and can result in affecting life insurance applications, health insurance applications and other benefits or services.
  • Together, we can determine how many times we meet instead of the insurance company making that decision.
  • Since a treatment plan, notes and billing information are not being released to an insurance company, a greater amount of confidentiality is in place for you.
